I am retired, having been Chief Executive of a company providing a renewable energy technology. I am married to Heather who is from Williamsburg, Virginia and we share our house, Long Cottage, with 3 cats and 3 dogs.

I have held senior roles on a number of national newspapers, notably the Evening Standard and The Independent, but I am now freelance, and write books about gardens.I am particularly interested in environment and conservation issues.
