Parking Traffic Regulation Order (TRO)

The Parish Council has been working with various agencies including Gloucestershire Highways to try to resolve the parking issues raised during the Public Meeting held in October 2019.

The Council met with the Cotswold Tourist Board, had conversations with the Police, Traffic Enforcement, Cotswold District Council and Gloucestershire County Council.

The Parish Council would like to thank Gloucestershire Highways for their assistance in putting together the proposals. The Parish Council took on board the concerns raised and worked with Gloucestershire Highways to address these. The majority of concerns raised are with regards to introducing any restrictions near the Church/School and Village Hall. The Council, therefore, has ensured that the parking bays by the Church/School are not subject to any restrictions and there is an area in Cemetery Lane that also has no restrictions. The proposals for Church Road are to include time restrictions, to fall in line with the proposals for the rest of the village - otherwise the fear is that this will be targetted by visitors for long-term parking which will be detrimental to residents. Cemetery Road is narrow and there is considerable safety concerns with regards to parking on the pavement and ensuring access for Emergency Vehicles - therefore the Council agreed with Gloucestershire Highways that double yellow lines should be proposed for the narrow part of the road.

The proposals have been formed to address concerns regarding SAFETY, ACCESS AND TO MANAGE VISITORS TO THE VILLAGE.
